Basic principles of parallel programming and grids. Applications.
Syllabus
Thread, process, data sharing.
Multitasking vs. multithreading.
Grids. Job scheduling.
Multithreading in practice. Thread-safe functions.
Synchronisation, deadlocks. Atomic oprarations, locks, semaphores. Messaging.
High performance a grid computing in czech academic institutions.
PBS experiments.
