Degree programme objectives
The main objectives of the study in the Managerial Informatics program include primarily preparing graduates with broad and deep knowledge and understanding of the theories, concepts, and methods corresponding to the current state of knowledge in the fields of informatics, economics, and management. Graduates of the Managerial Informatics program are capable of independent professional activities and potentially participating in research activities. They can design and manage small and medium-sized businesses and organizations, with deeper knowledge enabling them to analyze, design, implement, and operate information and communication systems closely linked to computing systems and computer networks. They are also capable of managing specialized companies involved in design, consulting, and sales activities in the field of computing, office, and information technology, as well as software. Another goal is to support practical, innovative, and research activities of students and team collaboration through the realization of semester projects within the courses and cooperation with scientific-research workers through the student grant system at SU. An important goal of the study is to connect students with practice through the Business Gate center. The center is operated by the statutory city of Karviná, in collaboration with SU OPF and with the participation of other partners, such as the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research and companies. The study program should also motivate talented students to continue their studies in a doctoral program.Study plans
