Die Studie vergleicht die Dramen König Ottokars Glück und Ende des österreichischen Dichters Franz Grillparzer und Král Přemysl Otakar Druhý des tschechischen Schriftstellers František Zavřel. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf der Figur des böhmischen Königs Přemysl Otakar II. Dieser wird von beiden Autoren als eine außergewöhnliche und starke Persönlichkeit dargestellt, aber während er bei Grillparzer ein Antiheld und Opfer der eigenen rücksichtslosen Politik ist, ist er bei Zavřel ein Übermensch, der der Kleinigkeit seiner Umgebung zum Opfer fällt. Das Ziel der Studie besteht darin, diese Unterschiede näher zu beschreiben und ihre Ursachen zu erläutern.

This study compares the dramas König Ottokars Glück und Ende by the Austrian dramatist Franz Grillparzer and Král Přemysl Otakar Druhý by the Czech writer František Zavřel. The focus is on the character of the Bohemian King Otakar II. The king is depicted by both authors as a strong and remarkable figure, but while Grillparzer presents him as an anti-hero who falls victim to his own ruthless politics, Zavřel shows him to be a form of superman, whose downfall is caused by the pettiness of those around him. The study explores the differences and seeks to explain their origins.
