In his article, the author deals with an overview of local literature in the region of the Jeseník region. Until 1945 Jeseník region had a predominantly German character, and this national composition had a fundamental influence on the form of the literature. The Czech writer rarely took ideas from the region under Praděd (Altvater) until the time of the fundamental changes in the ethnic composition of the Jeseník region population in favor of the Czechs. Worth mentioning are the briefs about Vincenc Priessnitz and the Gräfenberk Spa (today Jesenik Spa). The poetry of the Jesuit poet Jitka Stehlíková, the poet and prose writer Miroslav Kubíček, who often inspired the Jeseník region, surpassed the literature of the region and brought many of its charming places to the readers. As was the case with a number of poets from elsewhere, who were inspired by the region only occasionally in their work. They include such names as Vítězslav Nezval, Jan Skácel, Ivo Štuka and others.
