Despite the fact, that large industrial enterprises are trying to comply with applicable legal standards, using of modern technologies and preventative measures to prevent the occurrence of emergency events, it is not possible to completely exclude the occurrence of these emergency events and their negative consequences. The present article outlines the issue of assessing the environmental risks associated with the distribution of fuels. Filling stations are the last element of the logistics chain of the petrochemical industry. Due to its number and location, in protected landscape areas, near watercourses or fertile soils represent a significant source of environmental risk. On the basis of environmental risk assessment, the emergency event associated with the leakage of fuel in a filling station, we point out the negative consequences of this emergency event to individual components of the environment.
