CIE offers potential for innovation particularly in the use of CIE for impact assesment of internal incentives having an impact on performance. As a result of this paper the authors set up internal evaluation criteria for businesses, counterfactual and other metrics useful for creating a more complex metrics evaluating not only the external aspects of CIE, but also the internal aspects which could be used in CIE.
