Referat stawia sobie za cel zarysowanie problematyki zachowania i dostępności materiałów kartograficznych austriackiego katastru gruntowego (zwanego też franciszkańskim lub stałym) założonych dla polskiej części dawnego Śląska Austriackiego, czyli części Śląska Cieszyńskiego, które są obecnie przechowywane w śląskich archiwach państwowych, muzeach oraz przede wszystkim w archiwach różnych instytucji administracji państwowej, tj. Starostw Powiatowych i Urzędów Miejskich. Omówione zostały także ogólne zasady sporządzania owych materiałów a także kwestia ich losów zanim trafiły do wspomnianych instytucji.

The aim of this paper is to outline the problem of preservation and availability of cartographic materials of the Austrian land cadastre (also called "franciscan" or "permanent") established for the Polish part of the former Austrian Silesia, i.e. the Cieszyn Silesia region. These materials are currently kept in Silesian state archives, museums, and, above all, in the archives of various institutions of state administration, i.e. County and Municipal Offices. The general principles of compiling these materials were also discussed as well as the question of their fate before they found their way to these institutions.
