This paper will provide a corpus-based analysis of fitness terminology development, exploring the frequency, timeline, and international distribution of selected expressions. The data will be drawn from the Corpus of Contemporary American English, the Corpus of Historical American English, and the Corpus of Global Web-Based English. After outlining the milestones that let the fitness industry enter the new era of progression through the English language, the main attention will be paid to the worldwide influence of the origin, development, and vocabulary of aerobics on the current gym industry.
