Cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have gained significant attention in recent years due to the emergence of Cloud Computing technologies. Cloud-based ERP solutions enable all users to connect to servers via the Internet from different locations. With cloud ERP, businesses can access their mission-critical apps from anywhere at any time thanks to the cloud delivery model called Software as a Service (SaaS). Cloud ERP solutions integrate the most important business functions such as finance, accounting, human resources, supply chain management, and customer relationship management into a single, unified platform. This approach based on the Cloud delivery model SaaS provides several advantages for small and medium businesses. It enables them very easy to integrate their activities, improve communications, and reduce operational costs. Cloud ERP solutions offer also scalability, allowing small and medium businesses to adapt to changing needs without significant upfront investments in hardware and software infrastructure. Currently, a wide range of both commercial and open-source solutions for small and medium-sized companies can be found. Cloud-based ERP offers a compelling alternative to traditional on-premise solutions. Cloud-based ERP systems represent a significant shift in how organizations manage their resources and operations. While offering numerous benefits, the adoption of Cloud ERP systems also presents challenges that need to be carefully addressed to ensure successful implementation and utilization, especially in small and medium-sized companies. Successful adoption requires a comprehensive understanding of the benefits, challenges, and strategic implications associated with transitioning to cloud-based ERP systems. This paper deals with the current state of cloud computing usage in the ERP systems sector from the perspective of the advantages and disadvantages of this approach from the perspective of supporting business processes and achieving planned goals. There will be also an overview of available cloud-based solutions
