Purpose of the article: The aim of this paper is to evaluate the employment of women on parental leave in the Czech Republic. Methods: The primary data of our research on the attitudes of mothers on parental leave in relation to their employment was based on a questionnaire survey conducted in May and June 2024. The subsequent analysis of a significant sample of 470 respondents revealed results that partially confirm but also refute the findings of the theory. Findings & Value added: The trend in the globalized world is for women to work while on parental leave. The results of the quantitative research pointed to the fact that women-mothers in the Czech Republic actively seek work during parental leave and prefer the private sector to the public sector. Work activity is closely related to the level of education and women who have two children are more flexible. They try to maintain the economic stability of the family with the help of the extended family, only then do they use the social system of the Czech state. This paper focuses on the current issues of women-mothers on parental leave in relation to their work activity during this important period. It is an interesting confrontation of the views of selected domestic and foreign authors with the results of primary research. The findings from the primary research presented in the paper will contribute to updating the current picture of employed women-mothers on parental leave in the Czech Republic.
