Anotace

V originále

Maternity leave is one of the important state institutes that affect the socio-economic level of society. The aim of the paper is to describe and then compare maternity leave in EU countries. These are mainly the length of maternity leave and the amount of financial benefit. Although the EU as a whole represents a unifying element in a number of national economic application topics, it is possible to determine some differences in maternity leave. The description and comparison of these disparities that is the subject of this paper. The synthesis and analysis of maternity leave in the 27 EU countries is a surprisingly methodologically difficult topic that has not yet been treated analogously. The results of the research show interesting data that relate to both the length of maternity leave and the amount of maternity leave in individual EU countries.
