Cílem předmětu je seznámit studenty se současnou americkou nezávislou tvorbou, zásadními osobnostmi, jejich režijním stylem a aktuálními trendy, možnostmi prezentace a distribučními platformami, vztahem a vazbami na hollywoodskou produkci.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • 1.–2. Nástup amerického nezávislého filmu (začátek 80. let)
  • 3.–6. Generace Sundance (Steven Soderbergh, Richard Linklater, Quentin Tarantino, Hal Hartley ad.)
  • 7. Důležitost amerických filmových festivalů pro vzestup nezávislé scény (Sundance, SXSW, Telluride ad.)
  • 8.–11. Generace tvůrců a tvůrkyň nezávislé scény počátku nového tisíciletí
  • 12.–13. Nezávislí tvůrci/tvůrkyně vs. Hollywood
