Course objectives
The course provides students with an orientation in basic issues related to contemporary American studies and culture. Like the subject of Culture Studies 1 in the UK, it draws attention to the basic political, cultural and social aspects of life in the USA with regard to what is specific to the USA. Based on the reading of the assigned texts, emphasis will be placed on the ability to comment on what is being discussed and to discuss professional topics related to American realities. The aim of the course is, among other things, the development of critical thinking of students, as well as the effort to support their efforts for further self-education in the field of American studies.

The student will be able to discuss topics in the field of American studies.
