- Course objectives
- The aim of the seminar is to acquaint students with the administrative structure of Italy, taking into account the historical development. Priority is given to information about the twenty self-governing units of the Italian Republic and about other areas where Italian is spoken, together with more general topics related to Italian realities. The students' task will be to present more closely one of the areas that they know personally or that interests them.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will be able to:
- describe the Italian regions (geography, economy, important places);
- characterize differences and compare regions with each other;
- analyze the social and economic problems of the regions;
- present a place from a general and tourism point of view. - Syllabus
- 1.-2. The Aosta Valley. Trentino-Alto Adige. Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Territorial bodies in the Italian Constitution. Regions with special statute.
- 3. Lombardy. Piedmont. The Italian garden.
- 4.-5. Emilia-Romagna. The region Veneto. Liguria. The phenomenon of the sea.
- 6.-7. Tuscany. Umbria. The Marches. Three central regions, centers of culture and art.
- 8. Lazio. The Campania. The famous story in the noble palaces. 9.-10. Abruzzo. Molise. Basilicata. Landscapes and traditions to discover.
