Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the history and culture of Germany. In the center of attention are selected historical epochs, their most important events and personalities. Attention is also paid to cultural life, geography, economics, gastronomy, customs and traditions of individual countries.
Learning outcomes
The student is able to identify and describe the most important historical epochs in the history of the countries studied. The student is able to identify and summarize the most important features of political, economic and cultural life in each country.
Syllabus
  • 1. North-south, east-west, poverty-wealth: What divides the Germans and what unites;
  • 2. High culture, "American" culture, music culture: Breaks and continuity in the cultural memory of the Germans.
