Course objectives
The aim of the lecture and relevant seminars is to convey basic theoretical and practical knowledge of  German syntax. In  theoretical parts, the most important problems and basic questions of syntactic research are introduced and some important theoretical approaches are outlined. In  practically oriented seminars, specific exercises and text passages discuss syntactic phenomena that often cause problems for "non-native speakers", e.g. negation, word order, agreement, etc. The aim of the seminar is to thoroughly practice the laws of German grammar at the sentence level and to improve the language competence of students.
