- Course objectives
- Are you interested in how artificial intelligence can affect your work or your life? Do you want to learn more about what artificial intelligence means, how it is researched and what its practical uses are? Do you want to understand how artificial intelligence will develop in the coming years and how it will affect our lives? The Elements of AI course was prepared by MinnaLearn and the University of Helsinki. It aims to familiarize the public with artificial intelligence and show what can and cannot be achieved through it. In addition, participants of this course, which combines theory with practical tasks, will learn how to start creating methods based on artificial intelligence. The course can be taken at your own pace.

- Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand the basic concepts of artificial intelligence (AI)
- Define AI and explain its key principles and techniques.
- Differentiate between what AI can and cannot achieve in practical applications.
- Analyze how AI is currently influencing various industries and societal functions.
- Predict potential changes and challenges that AI development may bring in the coming years.
- Apply foundational AI methods and techniques
- Evaluate the opportunities and limitations of AI

- Assessment methods
- Online tests. To get a certificate, you must complete at least 90% of the tasks, of which at least 50% must be answered correctly. Correctness is calculated as the average correctness of all tasks completed (so all tasks have equal weight). Open answers are counted as 100% correct if they have been approved.
