- Course objectives
- The goal of the course is to acquaint students with the principles of data communications, the standards and the specifications of computer networks. We focus on architectures of the global computer networks in the environment of the decentralized systems and security models.

Local networks.
Technologies in common use - ISDN, xDSL, X.25, Frame Relay, cells, ATM, etc.
Wireless technologies.
Protocols - TCP/IP, ARP, RARP, ICMP.
Network operating systems. Distributed network operating systems. Directory services, LDAP.
