Kurz je jednosemestrální. Studenti se učí základům němčiny s běžnými konverzačními tématy. Tento kurz je přípravou pro kurzy Němčina pro historiky I. a II., ve kterých se probírají odborné historické texty. Studenti musí rozvíjet své schopnosti ve četbě, musí porozumět mluvenému slovu a prohlubovat komunikativní schopnosti.
