Course objectives
The course introduces the structure of German sentences, the individual parts of speech and the rules for their position in sentences. This knowledge is necessary for learning German as a foreign language. Each unit consists of a theoretical part, which introduces the definitions and rules, and a practical part consisting of tasks. The tasks point at syntax features which are problematic for non-native speakers, e.g. negation, word order, passive etc.
