- Course objectives
- One of a term aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic kinds of stone materials used in prehistoric times and the Middle Ages in Central Europe in terms of petrographic methods, characteristics of materials and their practical application. The course also includes practical training in relevant learning materials.

- 1 / Introduction (definition petroarchaeology, history of research in Moravia and Silesia as well as in other parts of Central Europe; comparative rock collection - lithotéky)

3 / List of igneous rocks with respect to their use in prehistoric and medieval times
4 / Overview of sedimentary rocks with respect to their use in prehistoric and medieval times
5 / Overview of metamorphic rocks with respect to their use in prehistoric and medieval times

7 / Raw polished artefacts in Central Europe
