Course objectives

This seminar focuses on practical aspects in the development of information technology in the Czech Republic and their impact on the development of information resources and services in libraries. The students receive a comprehensive overview and knowledge of information services and resources that can be used in the activities of libraries and information centers.

Syllabus (in Czech)

• 1. Charakteristika významných oborových zdrojů a služeb - terminologie a klasifikace; tradiční služby a zdroje; webovské služby a zdroje; oborové zdroje; mailing list, blogs, RSS, atd.
  2. Vyhledávání informací ve vybraných specializovaných DgS - polytematické DgS; oborové DgS; systémy pro šedou literaturu, patentové dokumenty, normativní dokumenty
  3. Vyhledávání informací ve vybraných systémech a službách - Národní bibliografie, Česká národní bibliografie; Souborné katalogy knihoven v ČR + zahraniční; Oborové informační brány; EIZ; Oborové EIZ; Licenční zdroje
