Course objectives
The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of the students considering the use of information technologies and information systems when providing spa, accommodation and catering services. The aim is practical familiarisation with particular information systems available at the faculty. The students will learn the structure of information systems used in spa and hospitality operation. They will learn to use chosen information systems applying practical examples, to work with guest reservation, to allocate procedures, to check-out and settle the accounts.
Syllabus
  • 1. The concept of information system, classification of information systems, application of information systems in accommodation services (spas)
    2. Practical application of available information systems, work at the reception, guest reservation, room allocation, check-in, links to cashier and store systems, check-out
    3. Practical usage of available information systems in the work of middle management of accommodation establishment (spas). Definition of codes, listing of available statistics in the used information system, definition of codes and printed sets
    4. Current trends and functions in used information systems. Work on the net, available web services for accommodation establishments (spas)
