- Course objectives
- The aim is to acquaint students with the basics of practical creation of audiovisual work (documentary or more extensive reportage, music recording, etc.) and especially to enable them to practice in this field.
- Learning outcomes
- The result is a reflection on a given topic in the field of theoretical documentary art and a short documentary TV film.
- Syllabus
- Documentary production in a history. The relationship between the document and the historical period context. Basic methodologies and means of expression of documentary film. Auviovisual image of reality as a new specific form of communication. Basic creative documentary methods (reconstruction, reportage). Materials, research and general preparation for the creation of a documentary audiovisual work. Genre spectrum of documentary audiovisual work topics (portrait, self-portrait, diary, survey, column, reportage, sports film). Samples from films, means of expression of world and Czech documentary filmmakers. Leading each student's own documentary project.

- Teaching methods
- The programme is taught in the form of lectures and practical exercises, special emphasis is placed on students' homework and their subsequent analysis in teaching.
- Assessment methods
- The evaluation of the student includes individual analyzes of his work in a discussion with the teacher (especially in the editing room) and joint analyzes of works with colleagues - students. Active feedback and gradual editing of the emerging short documentary film is important.
