Course objectives
The aim of the course is to get the students acquainted with the issues of specialised activities connected with the development of original special text meeting the requirements and standards of a final thesis.
Syllabus
  • Attention will be paid to the general issues connected with qualified choice of a topic, to exploitation of information sources (literature, printed/written, cartography, iconography and oral source data, electronic media) on the level of analysis, interpretation and synthesis, choice of adequate research methods, data evaluation and application of theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the studies. Principles of final/bachelor thesis development will be presented with the emphasis on its structure, form, content and originality including the emphasis on notes and bibliography references. Considering the professional aiming of the field and expected possibility of partial outputs of the theses in the form of the market research results, tabular summaries and practical products (programme offers of spa, tourism and tour events, manuals, information texts, guide books, etc.), emphasis will be put on the ways of their solving, arrangement and inclusion within the main text and appendix of the final/bachelor thesis. Attention will also be paid to the form of the presentation of the thesis results within the thesis defence, consequent presentation and in practice. Individual tutorials devoted to the choice of the topic, chosen methods, information sources and the research part of the thesis will be a part of the course.
