- Course objectives
- The cycle of lectures and seminars is dedicated to an overview of the 20th century Italian literature. The lectures aim to characterize the period from a literary, historical and social point of view and to present its main authors. The seminars consist in analyses of a series of literary works. The course programme is freely completed by the course of Contemporary Italian prose 1 and 2.
- Learning outcomes
- The students have a general knowledge of the main literary trends of the 20th century, they can place the most important Italian authors and their works in the literary and historical context, thay can subject a literary text to a formal and content analysis.

- 2. I futuristi e altri poeti del periodo
- 3. Il nuovo indirizzo del romanzo italiano: l’indagine introspettiva
- 4. La letteratura del ventennio fascista: la poesia
- 5. La letteratura del ventennio fascista: Solaria e il neorealismo degli anni ‘30
- 6. Il secondo neorealismo e l'altra prosa del secondo dopoguerra
- 7. Lo sviluppo di nuove forme di prosa e poesia. La prosa contemporanea
