- Course objectives
- The course provides a basic orientation in the field of written cultural heritage in terms of a specific group of movable tangible cultural heritage. Materials, otherwise perceived primarily as sources of historical research of diplomatic and codicological character, and thus the subject of study of auxiliary historical sciences, are perceived in accordance with international practice as an integral part of national and world cultural heritage. UNESCO). The possible internal stratification of this specific group of cultural heritage, methods of its research, institutional arrangements are outlined. Emphasis is placed on manuscript materials, printed artifacts will not be left out either. Example presentations will focus on the most important files and individuals of Czech, European and world provenance of diplomatic and codicological character, on literary texts, papyri, sources with a share of text, etc. The potential of the use of written cultural heritage in the international context (exhibitions, Expo) and in regional practice (cultural, social and leisure activities, education of cultural tourism) is emphasized.
- Learning outcomes
- By completing the course, the student will gain a basic orientation in the field of written cultural heritage in terms of a specific group of movable tangible cultural heritage. They will learn the internal stratification of this specific group of cultural heritage, methods of its research, institutional arrangements. The student will get acquainted with manuscript materials and printed artifacts (example presentations will focus on the most important files and individuals of Czech, European and world provenance of diplomatic and codicological character, literary texts, papyri, sources with a share of text, etc.).

- 10. Selected examples of written cultural heritage of foreign provenance.
