Course objectives
The aim of the course is to master the basics of using software for editing and creating graphics, presentations and multimedia.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- describe the main features of computer graphics;
- make simple raster image edits;
- create simple vector graphics, possibly in combination with raster graphics
- create a presentation on a given topic and modify it according to the selected presentation method
- recognize basic mutlimediální formats and determine their suitability
Syllabus
  • 1. Software for editing and creating graphics: basic concepts and principles of computer graphics. 2. Graphic and multimedia formats, their properties and uses, conversion between formats. 3-4. Editing photographs in a raster graphics editor, rotation, cropping, brightness, contrast, histogram editing, color adjustment, sharpening, local adjustment of errors, blemishes, red-eye removal. 5.-6. Vector graphic editor, vector image creation, principles of proper editing of graphic documents. 7.-8. Presentation creation software: preparation of presentation materials, tools for creating presentations, creating and setting up a presentation, principles of computer presentation processing, exporting a created presentation. presentation. 9. Creating a web page by exporting from an application program, linking documents with links. 10. Multimedia: basic concepts and principles of multimedia, multimedia file formats. 11.-12. Principles of digital audio, video. Multimedia file compression, audio file formats, video files, their properties. Acquisition and playback of multimedia files. 13. Conversion of multimedia file formats.
