Course objectives
The course prepares the students for further courses in phonetics and phonology. It helps the students develop the correct learning habits and addresses the most frequently encountered pronunciation problems. It explains how English phonemes, both separately and in context of other phonemes, are pronounced correctly, and focuses on their drill. During the seminars the students learn from recordings and/or the tutor and try to imitate the pronunciation. Besides this, typical mispronunciation of some words will be mentioned for the students to work on individually.
