Course objectives
Lectures will cover the historical development of foreign language textbooks. Students will be introduced into the problems of assessment and selection methods of textbooks suitable for a respective target group.. They will be also acquainted with criteria for a critical assessment of textbooks and their parts. Students will assess components of textbooks and textbook files. Issues of the Internet support for textbooks will be also presented. Students will focus on appropriate texts, records, pictorial and other elements. Student`s individual work will also cover practical assessment of textbooks in a form of micro presentation with a feed back for the follow up assessment.
