Course objectives
The seminar deals with historical development of methods in foreign language teaching, their advantages and disadvantages. The students will be introduced to lesson planning, different kinds of teaching methods, evaluating progress or giving feedback. It is advisable for the students to deal with issues connected to the strategies and techniques of language teaching. They will also learn about current teaching trends such as project teaching or tandem teaching, etc.

    5. Interaction and social forms
    6. Typology of tasks and exercises
    7. Media in Foreign Language Teaching
    8. Testing language skills and language resources
    9. Techniques and strategies for teaching foreign language
    10. Methods of teaching foreign language I
    11. Methods of teaching foreign language II
    12. faults and fault analysis, evaluation and self-evaluation

Self-study instructions will be provided through initial consultations, in the study support containing specific self-study tasks and comprehension checks and also references to the recommended literature.
Students will hand in the completed tasks in writing. These tasks are marked SA in the study support.
