Course objectives
The aim of the course is the students` improving their practical knowledge of the language and the development of their language skills. Emphasis is on communication skills based on consistent practice of grammatical structures and systematic enlarging of vocabulary. Contents: 1. SB unit 1: The tense system, Informal English. 2. SB unit 1: Active and passive, Compound words, The music of English, Formal letters. 3. WB unit 1: Workbook. 4. SB unit 2: Present perfec, Fillers. 5. SB unit 2: Simple and continuous aspect, Hot verbs make and do, Exclamations. 6. WB unit 2: Workbook. 7. SB unit 3: Narrative tenses. 8. SB unit 3: Spoken English - like, Showing interest and surprise, Narrative writing. 9. WB unit 3: Workbook. 10. SB unit 4: Questions and negatives, Spoken English - how come? 11. SB unit 4: Prefixes, Antonyms, Being polite. 12. WB unit 4: Workbook.
