Course objectives
The course is focused on the systematic and comprehensive development of language competence and on the practical application of communicative skills for intermediate English speakers. Students will consolidate and deepen their knowledge of English grammar, expand their vocabulary and practice pronunciation. The emphasis will be on speaking and listening.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- improve the knowledge of English grammar
- expand vocabulary;
- improve pronunciation;
Syllabus
  • Curriculum: 1. Uses of the infinitive with to. Verbs + infinitive (try to, forget to, etc.). Weak form of to, linking. 2. Uses of the infinitive with to. Verbs + infinitive (try to, forget to, etc.). Weak form of to, linking. 3. Have to, don’t have to, must, musn’t. Modifiers (a bit, really, etc.). 4. revise and check 7 5. Should. The verb get. Sentence stress. 6. First conditional. Confusing verbs. Linking. 7. Possessive pronouns. Adverbs of manner. Sentence rhythm. 8.revise and check 8 9. Second conditional. Animals. Word stress. 10. Present perfect + for and since. Phobias and words related to fear. Sentence stress. 11. Present perfect vs past simple. Biographies. Word stress. 12. revise and check 9 13. Revise and check 7-9.
