Course objectives
The course represents a synthesis of knowledge acquired by the students in previous courses: morphology, syntax and lexicology. The analysis of the text results in the description of the Italian language as partly analytical, partly synthetic one. The aim of the seminar is to promote the understanding of the system of the Italian language, which leads to better understanding of texts in general. The texts represent different fields of life in Italy: history, culture, politics and way of life. Different Italian texts are read and analysed

    The analysis concentrates on the following linguistic elements: pronominal subject in the Italian sentence, the position of adjectives, prepositional constructions functioning as adverbial, aspect in Italian (in comparison with Czech), the function of Italian tenses, the structure of predicate, modal schemes of sentence types, modal scheme of complex sentence.
