- Course objectives
- The seminar will equip students with the necessary skills for a successful completion of their academic studies. As the university environment differs largely from the high school environment, the first-year students are exposed to high levels of stress resulting from new requirenments and short deadlines. The stress levels can be substantially lowered, though, if the students acquire relevant attitudes and methods of more efficient study. Via instruction and independent project work, the students will become familiar with the basic principles of work organization within university studies, such as preparation planning, time management and note-taking. The course will also focus on the development of such necessary academic skills as information processing, work with resources and citation norms.
