Course objectives
The aim is to acquaint students with the problems of social communication. Students gain theoretical and practical skills in analyzing communication processes, knowledge of which is essential for a basic understanding of information process in the company. The emphasis is on communication in the field of library and information systems.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- analyze communication processes
- compile an overview of the effectiveness of communication tools, tools and elements
- to transfer theoretical knowledge from the field of social communication into their practical form

    2. Current issues and problems of communication - definition, terminology
    3. Structure of social communication and its classification
    4. Man and communication - basic characteristics
    5. Communication skills and abilities - other soft softskills
    6. Characters, language and writing in communication - semiotics, semantics, pragmatics
    7. Verbal and nonverbal signs, verbal and nonverbal communication
    8. Barriers in communication - concept, essence, characteristics and overcoming barriers
    9. Development of communication in society - history, genesis of communication
    10. Main milestones in the history of communication - language, writing, book, letterpress, modern means
