Course objectives
The geography of tourism is intended for all students of language disciplines. Completing it will help them orientate themselves in the field of tourism and, together with their language skills, will enable them to find employment. In addition to the necessary theoretical basis, a mandatory part of the seminar is the elaboration and presentation of a selected foreign locality (according to the language studied) in order to focus on its importance in terms of tourism.
Learning outcomes
Student after completing the course:
- can characterize the concept of tourism;
- has basic knowledge of the history and legislation of tourism;
- is able to characterize the localization and implementation assumptions of tourism development and apply them independently to a specific locality;
- has an overview of the monuments inscribed on the UNESCO list and can explain the reasons for their selection;
- gets an overview of the geography of tourism in the given European destinations.

Teaching methods
lectures, class discussion, group projects, presentations, homework
Assessment methods
attendance at seminars is mandatory (min. 70%), homework, presentation of the selected destination, written multiple choice test consists of 30 questions (25 of correct answers is needed to pass), a short essay
