Course objectives
The aim is to develop the student's dramaturgical and screenwriting abilities and to strengthen his abilities to prepare the production of an audiovisual work in a high-quality manner, including the issue of research and preparation of materials for the creation of his own scenario. The basic methodological procedure is feedback during the analysis of his author's work and analyzes of similar works of other students.
Learning outcomes
The output is the student's own film-subject and first version of the script, including the definition of formalities related to the realization of an audiovisual work in the field of science popularization, ideally in connection with his future master's work. The secondary goal is a dramaturgical assessment of the work of colleagues and an analysis of several example finished films.
  • The acquisition of important concepts from the previous study will be checked. The student, in cooperation with the teacher and during joint discussions, will create a theme and the basic verzion of the script for an AV work with an accent on the popular-science theme of audiovisual creation. It will deepen the ability to assess the realization possibilities of the work already at the stage of the subject, and the application of previous knowledge necessary for popular scientific audiovisual production will be practiced. Emphasis is placed on the use of general principles to create a relevant topic for a TV show, film or multimedia product in the chosen field of science and its popularization. The practicum culminates in the creation of your own subject and scenario for a non-fiction audiovisual work. Within the study group, the pedagogue will try to cover the widest possible spectrum of topics so that, when analyzing emerging topics, the students will become familiar with various forms of science popularization using audiovisual production.
