Course objectives
The aim of the course English 2 is that the graduates are able to lead basic communication in English about topics relating to their future profession, orientation in these topics (specialized word-stock in PA 1), as well as development of language skills of general English. The focus will be put on all parts of study of Language: Grammar, Reading, Listening, Speaking and especially on part WRITING. Accompanying grammar material: test according to the certificate PET - WRITING. The aim of the course English 2 is that the graduates are able to lead basic communication in English about topics relating to their future profession, orientation in these topics (specialized word-stock in PA 1), as well as development of language skills of general English. Study Outcomes: Professional Knowledge: Students will acquire basic knowledge of and vocabulary for work in the field of personnel development, for work in a foreign company, on the global economy, activities of international business corporations and the methods of communicating information. Furthermore, they will acquire knowledge in the area of customer care, feedback and customer service. General Skills: Students will be able to welcome customers in the company and give a presentation, talk about the local tourist attractions, compare the advantages and disadvantages of working in a foreign company, and use vocabulary for international trade and economics. They will understand the basic vocabulary in finance and investment, environmental care and housing. General Qualification: Students will be able to write a short corporate email (50 words) according to the basic letter types - formal, informal and neutral. They will be able to respond to customer requests and deal with work issues via e-mail. They will also be able to write a report on the progress of a project (progress report) and prepare an oral address (structuring of speech) of 100 words. Testing by the KET / PET test, part WRITING. Competences: Students will be able to share their opinion and suggest solutions, arrange business issues and administer changes. They will also be able to speak about events that take place in the coming days and in the near future.
