The prerequisite for completing the course is knowledge of the basics of the legal system in the Czech Republic and basic concepts of jurisprudence.

Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to provide an introductory knowledge in the field of selected topics of civil law, especially in relation to the field of family law, tort law and damages and status relations of persons. The purpose is to acquaint students with those areas of civil law that may be relevant for practice in the field of social work and public administration.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to orient himself in the relevant areas of civil law regulation. He will also be able to subsume typical situations to the relevant legal norm, he will be able to identify actions contrary to the norms of civil law and describe the consequences associated with such actions.

  • 1. Private law, the concept of civil law and its inclusion in the Czech legal system 2. Basic principles of civil law 3. Subjects of civil relations – natural and legal persons 4. Protection of human personality – protection of life, health, privacy, personal protection in the field of social services 5. Protection of personal data - sources, basic concepts, rights and obligations in the processing of personal data 6. Legal facts – legal actions, legal events 7. Things - division of things 8. Rights in Rem 9. Law of obligations - general part 10. Law of obligations - special part 11. Compensation for damage – compensation for damage and non-property damage; unjust enrichment 12. Protection of classified information I – sources, definitions, classifications 13. Protection of classified information II - National Security Office, functions in the protection of classified information, obligations in the protection of classified information, provision of classified information in international relations and such actions.
