Course objectives
The content of the course will enable students to understand the protection of social rights at the international level and especially at the EU level in its broader context. Students will learn about the development of the legal regulation of social rights in the EU, issues of equality and non-discrimination, such as the right to education and health in the EU. In the context of the social aspects of free movement of persons, students will learn about the administrative processes of movement and residence of EU and non-EU citizens, including labour protection. In addition, students will learn about the framework regulations and cases of application of social benefits in selected social situations through concrete examples. Finally, students will learn about the current and forthcoming conceptual documents regulating the policy on the protection of social rights in the EU, including a discussion of scenarios of possible developments, where students will be able to apply the knowledge acquired in previous lectures and seminars.
Learning outcomes
Using concrete examples, students will learn the framework regulations and cases of application of social benefits in selected social situations. Students will also learn about current and forthcoming conceptual documents regulating the policy of social rights protection in the EU, including a discussion of scenarios of possible developments, where students will be able to apply the knowledge gained from previous lectures and seminars.
