- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to acquaint students with fundamentals of social care. The course is conceived as a theoretical subject. It enhances knowledge form organization and securing of social care, which is closely related to nursing care, above all in the primary and tertiary medical care. The contents are focused on a concept of social care, its elements and target groups in a community. It teaches students about the organizational scheme of social care and with applicable legal regulations. Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: The students can define terms within social work, social care and to explain the significance of social care of clients/patients suffering from various types of handicaps and of all ages. Professional skills: The students are able to assess a need for social care with respect to client's/patient's medical condition. General ability: The students are able to recommend the appropriate way of social care as well as the adequate social facility. Competence: They provide families, groups and their relatives required information from the field of social care appropriately and within their competences and they take care of clarity of this information. If needed, they contact respective professionals.

- Attendance in a minimum of 80 per cent of seminars is required for completion. Students who could not attend a number of lessons for serious reasons will be assigned extra tasks.
