Course objectives
The aim is to understand the basic definition, purpose and goals of one of the educational disciplines and anchor it in the system of pedagogical sciences and simultaneously impart a basic knowledge of the topics listed below, with emphasis on the necessity of individualized and holistic approach simultaneously when exposed to an individual or group. Course content is closely linked to the orientation of general education. Attention is also paid to related concepts, developmental theories, history of development of individual parts of education and subsložek and their application in the educational environment of the school and family. The aim is to create a theoretical and practical foundation for further studies of applied educational disciplines. Another aim of the course is to equip students with a range of practical skills that will enable them to successfully manage and challenging educational situations. An integral part of the course are complementary seminars.
Syllabus
  • 1. The concept of the subject theory of education. General Education definition (definition, historical context, understanding the various concepts of education). Characters education. Intentional and functional concept.
    2. Objectives of Education (function aims taxonomy of educational objectives). Parts of education and compliance system.
    3. Values, types of values, value orientation. Value orientation of children and youth and the role of schools in its influence. Methods and means of moral education.
    4. Upbringing for democracy, the rights of children and their participation in the formation of school (class) standards and rules. Discipline problems, causes and possible solution strategies indiscipline, uncooperative behavior etc.
    5. Social-pathological phenomena of children and youth and the role of schools in preventing and remedying.
    6. Multicultural Education (xenophobia, racism, relationship to minorities?). Problems of racism, xenophobia, bullying in schools and education opportunities.
    7. Education on healthy lifestyles. Physical and mental health.
    8. Biological, psychological and social conditions, sexual education, sexual education partnership, marriage and parenthood.
    9. Position families between educational factors. Cooperation between family and school. Communication School - family, its forms and possibilities.
    10. Education in the family.
