- Course objectives
- The course aims at familiarizing the student with basic information from the area of ergonomics, physiology of work and anthropometry. The student will become familiar with ergonomic assessment of the workplace, i.e., the arrangement and equipment of the working environment that facilitates the feeling of comfort, enhances the working capacity and output (abilities, knowledge and skills) and, within technical limits, reduces or mitigates the negative health impact of technology and environmental factors, most specifically in the health care settings.

2. Ergonomics, optimization of human activity.
3. Physiology of work.
4. Anthropometry.
5. Anthropometric points and measurement.
6. Current methods of the physiology of work.
7. Handling and manipulating objects.
8. Handling patients.
9. A professiogram of the nurse.

- Requirements for credit: 80 % active participation in practicals (students who could not meet attendance criteria due to serious obstacles will be given extra assignments).
An essay on an assigned topic (5-7 pages), its presentation and defence.
