Course objectives
The course extends the knowledge in the field of sex education. It familiarizes students with issues of sex education in terms of intra- and inter-personal dimensions, socially conditioned expectations, the role of family and school sex education, the problems of sexual abuse, sexually transmitted diseases and family planning education.
Learning outcomes
Professional Knowledge: The student is able to define the concepts of sex education and can explain these concepts Professional Skills: The student is able to use the terminology of sex education General Qualification: Students are able to navigate the field of sex education. Competences: Students acquire the ability to actively participate in sex education
Syllabus
  • 1. Phylogenetic development of human sexuality, historical approaches to sex education.
    2. Sexually non-sexual behaviour as sexual orientation pattern in the development of the individual.
    3. Sexual education, basic definition. Motives for the introduction of sex education into intentional education. Principles. Current situation.
    4. The content of sex education - for individual age groups. The methodology, the goals.
    5. The role of parents - the role of mother, the role of father. The role of friends, media, cyberbullying.
    6. Education towards family planning, contraception.
    7. Sexually transmitted diseases and their prevention.
    8. Prostitution, pornography, sexual abuse.
    9. Domestic violence, cruelty.
    10. Homosexuality, transsexuality, transvestism.
