- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to deepen and develop communication skills in English language (written and spoken), to introduce students to other situations that may arise in the profession of general nurse. The course includes practice in basic language skills (primarily speaking, but also listening, reading, and translating) with emphasis on comprehension of professional text and the ability to communicate in situations specific to the health professions. The course builds on English for General Nursing 1.

- 1. Emergency and injuries (admission, common injuries, situations)
2. First Aid (adult, children)
3. Specific healthcare (elderly, obese patients, mental problems)
4. Paediatric patient (specifics, children illnesses, communication with kids and parents)
5. Communication with family members (diagnosis, prognosis, patient discharge)
6. Multicultural approach (ethnic specifics in patient admission, hospitalization)
7. Reflection on healthy lifestyle
8. Medical system in Czech Republic and abroad
9. Summarizing lesson (interactive training of situations)

- The course is completed by credit, which will take the form of a seminar presentation - a given medical topic prepared in the form of a PPT or a frontal/interactive oral presentation. The condition for the award of credit is at least 80% attendance at the class.
