Course objectives
The aim is to obtain a basic overview of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in nursing techniques and procedures in acute and intensive care.
Learning outcomes
Professional knowledge: The student can describe the signs and symptoms of acute and critical conditions. Professional skills: The student can practically perform basic nursing techniques and procedures in accordance with the latest requirements in acute care.

    1. Cardiology
    • electrocardiography
    • arrhythmia - atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, asystole (analyse on ECG)
    • defibrillation, ICD
    • cardioversion
    • pacemaker
    2. Securing the vein
    • central vein
    • scoring systems in intensive care
    3. Anaesthesia
    • drugs used in anaesthesia
    • preparing the patient for anaesthesia
    • monitoring the patient during anaesthesia
