Course objectives
Students knows how to work in a group. They can prepare an educational plan – with a preventive focus for children of different ages. The educational plan is based on thematic areas: anatomy, the emergence of diseases, the technique of brushing teeth, fluoridation and age-appropriate nutrition. Students are actively involved in educational exercises. The knowledge and skill to be learned by children are presented in a playful way.
Learning outcomes
Professional Knowledge: Students know the facts, concepts, rules and principles of pedagogy.
Professional Skills: They can analyze the relationship of education to preventive and curative issues in dental hygiene.
General Qualification: Students are able to argue for the importance of a positive influence on children and parents in the area of health protection.
Competences: Actively carries out exercises in place of the faculty and in their place of residence.

  • 1. Active preparation of educational exercises.
  • 2. Creation of exercise aids.
  • 3. Devising structures of lessons for preschool children.
  • 4. Preparation of lectures.
  • 5. Establishing contacts with schools.

Assessment methods
Credit requirements: 80% attendance at the seminars (students who could not attend compulsory instruction for serious reasons will be assigned an alternative way of fulfilling their study requirements). Credit: preparation of educational plan and its presentation at a pre-school facility.
