- Course objectives
- The aim of the professional practice is to verify the theoretical knowledge acquired during the study, to train practical skills, to get acquainted with the services provided and to develop professional competences enabling the graduate to successfully enter the labour market. Professional practice IV is intended to give students experience of the social relations and ways of working that exist or are applied in the organisations where the professional practice is carried out. Other aims of the internship are to encourage the effort to reflect on this experience, to enable students to try out in practice the methods they have become familiar with through theoretical study, to provide opportunities for students to confront their theoretical ideas about future work with their practical implementation, to develop students' social sensitivity and to teach them to work in a reflective way. It is important for the student to gain experience in working with the client in the field, his/her living conditions and needs, to verify the theoretical background and to acquire basic professional skills. In the selected facility, the student will be oriented in its mission, composition of the client group, organizational structure, staffing, links to other facilities and the local community, relevant legislation. During the practice, attention will also be paid to teamwork including cooperation with other organizations and institutions, families of clients, physicians, psychologists. Professional practice IV is implemented in the form of individual, continuous internship in a selected facility of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Justice. Forms for the contractual conclusion of the internship, the content of the Internship Diary, the attendance sheet form, the evaluation of the student, the evaluation by the provider and other requirements will be updated to the student on e-learning and the Institute's website.
