- Course objectives
- International organizations play a key role in the effort of solving global problems nowadays, both regarding, among others, areas of international security, distribution of wealth and environment protection. The course is designed to present elementary aspects of international organizations with regard to their functions and scope of activity. In its first phase, the students will be introduced the theoretical concepts of study of international organizations and the historical development of international organizations. Next, the course will be focused on individual scopes of activity of international organization being attentive to United Nations, universal and versatile global institution. The attention will be paid to territory of central Europe as well as a subject and object of institutionalized international relations. The course will also comprise following the current events in world politics with regard to scope of activity of concrete international organizations. The seminars will be focused on deepening of the issue of international organizations themselves as well as on deepening of analytical abilities of students.

- The course is terminated by written test which is based on lectures, seminar reading and other compulsory literature. During the semester, the students prepare presentation on selected topic. Besides regular reading of given literature the active participation of students in seminar discussions is expected.
